Action plan for facilitating globally competitive paper industry

IPMA Secretary General met Mr. Shailendra Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Government of India, on 2nd February 2015 at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi. The Joint Secretary advised that the Paper Industry, through IPMA, should come up with an Action Plan listing out all the recommended policy interventions that are required to be taken by the Central Government / State Governments / Government Agencies which will remove impediments in or facilitate making India’s Paper Industry globally competitive.

The Chart was submitted to DIPP on 5th March 2015. The Joint Secretary convened a meeting on 25th March 2015 to discuss the Chart. IPMA was represented at the meeting by Mr. A S Mehta, Chairman, IPMA Commercial & Taxation Sub-Committee, and the Secretary General. As desired by DIPP, more details were subsequently submitted by IPMA to DIPP.
