IPMA asks for softer loans for making technology leap in Paper sector

Mr. A S Mehta, Chairman IPMA Commercial & Taxation Sub-Committee, and Secretary General IPMA met Mr. Shailendra Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), on 28th December 2015 at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi, and requested for levy of a concessional / merit rate of duty on paper and paperboard under the new GST regime. The Joint Secretary was also apprised of the high cost of installing equipment / systems for meeting the revised environmental norms / standards, and it was suggested that there should be some facility of concessional loans for this investment.
