An IPMA Delegation comprising of Past Presidents Mr. Harsh Pati Singhania, Mr. Madhukar Mishra, and Mr. Yogesh Agarwal, President Mr. Sanjay Singh, Chairman Commercial & Taxation Sub-Committee Mr. A S Mehta, and Secretary General, met Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon’ble Union Finance Minister, Government of India, on 3^rd July 2015 at North Block, New Delhi. A presentation was made to the Hon’ble Minister on ‘Interventions Needed for Long Term Sustainability of Paper Industry in India’, highlighting the present precarious status and outlook of the industry, increasing raw material cost, threat from escalating imports, and the government interventions needed to safeguard the health and financial viability of the Indian Pulp & Paper Industry. The Hon’ble Minister kindly agreed to look into the various issues highlighted.
